Our Lady is Home

Status: Our Lady is Home

Info: I’ll make this one a quick blast to let all of you know Bonnie is home and resting.  We’ve basically relocated everything from her room at Marin General to here in the home with little disruption.  A light lunch of split pea soup thanks to Petaluma Market, a couple of percosets, a spot on the chaise section of the couch with her favorite blanket with the sun pouring through the windows is where we’re at right now.

I’ll be taking tomorrow off to spend her first full day back in the house and Logan will relieve me on Friday to start her spring break.  Spring breaks for our girls have acted as sort of bookends for mom’s care.  Taylor’s spring break of course was spent here at home for the week prior to surgery and now Logan repeats the action where we suspect quite a bit more work will be required.  Logan is a great helper around the house and she’s looking forward to spending this quality time with her mom.

Bonnie received some beautiful orchids from our friends back east – thank you Kathleen! They’re beautiful.  Toni & Paul’s balloon is still flying here in the living room and the Lu-dog is excited to have mom back in the house.  The kitchen table looks like a small medical supply office and the picture of Bonnie resting on the couch is a helluva lot better than having her thirty miles south on the 4th floor of Marin General.

The staff there was wonderful and very caring through and through.  I can only imagine what they deal with day in and day out.

There’s a time and place for everything and right now – today – Bonnie’s time and place is here in the house and I think it’s safe to say this will be our routine for the next week or so – stay tuned.

I want to thank each and every one of you for reaching out they ways you have – the folks at works – our neighbors – and the whole case of Bonnie’s Boosters reaching across twenty-five states and the island of St. Maarten where our other drinking partners live.

I really don’t think we could have done this without each of you.

If you’re thinking of calling her – I appreciate it – tomorrow (Friday) will be a better day for that. Thanks.

Just as I’m writing this the florist just rang the bell with an incredible vase of mixed flowers from our friends in the Nutmeg State – Betsy & Margie.  Margie – I’ve been bragging big time about you to Logan – we can’t wait for your arrival.

Bonnie’s truly one lucky young lady.

Keep her close you guys.

Love,

Paul
