While Bruce took the stage and sang one of Tom Waits’ classic tunes; Jersey Girl from the stage at Fenway Park yesterday in front of several of Bonnie’s Beautiful Boosters we were home in a whirlwind of activity as we progress with our kitchen makeover. ¶ I was in the garage late yesterday afternoon while starting to feel the effects of all the day’s activities and my bride opened the kitchen door leading to the garage with the cell phone to her ear, letting me know she’s listening to the voice mail from her doctor. We’ve been waiting for the results of her recent gene mutation test for two weeks now and although I knew what she was doing I still needed to steady my feet and find somewhere to put my hands should the results be less than what we were looking for. Turns out I was able to raise my hands in the air and start clapping while letting out a great cheer loud enough for those on the other side of the river to hear!! ¶ This may be one of my shortest posts, and I’d be remiss not to mention how hard it’s been to deal with the loss of LuLu, though the power of being a family allows us to continue on. Logan offered her thoughts on LuLu last night and her summary demonstrated her maturity through it all as she told me she realizes the Lu-dog is still here with us … and by the looks of things … our special lady, for which this blog has been dedicated to, will also be with us for a long time to come. ¶ Bonnie and I both realize she’ll be subject to new tests just as soon as the medical community creates them, but as my text to Margie last night indicated: “It looks like that shit is out of her system.” Sweet!
